Jasprit Bumrah is all set to lead Team India in Three match T20 series against Ireland from August 18 to August 23.
Indian Pacer Jasprit Bumrah had a major back injury and was out from cricketing action for almost a year now. Jasprit Bumrah played his last International match in September against Australia at home. Jasprit Bumrah was seen hitting the balls in nets in a viral video.
Jasprit Bumrah had a back injury that required surgery. He underwent back surgery in New Zealand. For the past two months, He has been at NCA (National Cricket Academy) for his rehabilitation in Bengaluru. Few practice games have been played by Bumprah in the past few weeks and the NCA staff which is headed by VVS Laxman are satisfied with his comeback.
Squad of India for Ireland Series
Indian fans are filled with joy as veteran pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah is fully fit and he has been named as captain as well. India missed the service of Burah in World Test Championship as well. Along with him, Pace bowler Prasidh Krishna who has an impressive record in ODIs will also make his comeback in the Indian squad after his fracture injury.
The role of Vice Captain has been given to Ruturaj Gaikwad who will lead lead India’s Asian Games. Experts believe that Ruturaj Gaikwad should have been named as an Indian Captain to manage the workload of Jasprit Bumrah. Another pace bowler who has been a delight to watch in county games Arshadeep Singh has also made his place in the squad.
Experienced players of India have been rested for the series against Ireland. The list includes Hardik Pandya, Mohommad Shami, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma who have been rested. Jasprit Bumrah who is named as captain of India for the series has led India in a test match in the Birmingham test against England in 2022.
The squad includes the likes of Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma for the role of wicket-keeper. Jitesh Sharma has had an excellent IPL season this year. He played for Punjab Kings as a finisher and did an excellent job at that position.
Other players who made their place in the team are Yashaswi Jaiswal, Tilak Verma, Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed, and leg spinner Ravi Bishnoi.
Former Indian Captain Kapil Dev on Jasprit Bumrah
Kapil Dev is often seen criticising today’s cricketers and their way of playing and fitness. In a recent interview, he questioned Indian Cricketers for prioritising IPL over International Cricket. He questioned Indian players for taking a rest from international cricket and playing IPL.
World Cup Winning Captain Kapil Dev is often seen commenting over the players. He further said Players will play the IPL (Indian Premier League) with minor injuries but they take a rest if they have to play an International match with minor injuries. He further said IPL is a wonderful thing for Indian Talent but at the same time but players should not keep league cricket over their International career.
In an interview, he asked about the recovery of Jasprit Bumrah and said if he does not get fit before the mega event such as World Cup, then it would be a waste of time. He even showed concern over the recovery of Indian Wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant as India missed him in the World Test Championship final.
Kapil Dev also criticised BCCI (Board of Control of Cricket in India) for their poor management of Indian Players. He said for BCCI, along with making lots of money, you should have a calendar for the next three to five years for your players.
