A woman stabbed her husband to death as he insisted she stop wearing jeans after marriage in Jharkhand’s Jamtara. The incident has been reported from Jorbhitha village which comes under Jamtara police station limits.
On Saturday night, the victim, identified as Pushpa Hembrom, went to see a fair in nearby Gopalpur village wearing jeans. When she returned home, the couple had a heated fight over her attire and the husband questioned her as to why she wore jeans after their marriage.
The alleged comments of the husband led to an argument and, in a fit of anger, Pushpa swung at her husband with a knife, leaving the victim grievously injured. The family members of the victim swiftly rushed him to Dhanbad PMCH but he died as attempts were being made to save his life.
The father of the deceased, Karneshwar Tudu, said that there had been an argument between his son and daughter-in-law over her wearing jeans to a gathering after their marriage. The wife went on to stab her husband to death during the fight, he said.
Police said in case a woman kills her husband
Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation into the matter and efforts are being made to recover the murder weapon. Officials say that they have received more information about the incident. Jamtara’s Station House Officer (SHO) Abdul Rehman stated that since the victim died during his treatment in Dhanbad, an FIR has been registered in Dhanbad itself and the matter is still being investigated.
Andolan Tudu, the husband, and Pushpa Hembram, the accused, had gotten married two months back. Last night Pushpa wore Hembrom jeans and went to Gopalpur village to see the fair and upon returning, her husband objected to her choice of attire and told her not to go to the fair wearing jeans.
Enraged by his insistence, Pushpa allegedly stabbed her husband with a knife. Andolan Tudu was fatally injured in this scuffle. The family rushed the injured to a hospital in Dhanbad, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The son and daughter-in-law had an argument over jeans, Karneshwar Tudu, the father of the deceased, told the police that the daughter-in-law stabbed him and killed him due to their argument. The accused wife has also admitted her crime.
