In June 2022, in Udaipur, Rajasthan, Riyaz Attari and Mohammad Ghous savagely beheaded a tailor named Kanhaiya Lal. The NIA submitted a charge sheet against 11 additional people in December 2022.
What happened with Kanhaiya Lal?
The tailor had supported suspended Bharat Janata Party spokesperson Nupur Sharma on Facebook when the two Pakistani nationals Riyaz Attari and Mohammad Ghous beheaded him on June 28, 2022. Prophet Muhammad had been disparaged by Nupur Sharma. The savage murder was then captured on camera by the two, who then posted the clip to social media. Following that, the two posted a photo of themselves carrying the murder weapon and threatened Prime Minister Modi.
The NIA later re-registered the case after it had initially been registered at the Dhanbad Police Station. In relation to the death of Kanhaiya Lal Teli, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed charges against 11 persons, including four Pakistanis: Riyaz Attari, Mohammad Ghous, Salman, and Abu Ibrahim. They were charged with breaking a number of laws, including the Indian Penal Code, the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, and the Arms Act.
After a thorough examination, the NIA concluded that the 11 suspects were part of a terror module and that the majority of their actions and proclivities were radicalized and motivated by the claims that persisted across the nation against them. The primary motivation for this endeavor was retaliation against Nupur Sharma, the spokesperson for the BJP, for his purported statements about their Prophet.
DAWAT-E-ISLAMI
According to rumors, Riyaz Attari and Mohammad Ghous are members of the extreme Dawat-e-Islami group with headquarters in Karachi. They arrived in Pakistan in 2024 after being requested by a senior member of the group.
This organization’s primary goal is to propagate the Quran’s and Shariah’s teachings throughout the world, and it vehemently condemns anyone who commits any act of blasphemy against their Prophet.
RECONNAISSANCE OF THE OPERATION
The task of meticulously carrying out and relaying any information regarding Kanhaiya Lal, whether it be in his presence in his shop or elsewhere, was given to Mohammad Javed.
Salman was the one who encouraged the two men to behead him for the murder of the Udaipur tailor. The two of them were to perform something “spectacular” for anyone who disregarded their Prophet, according to him.
THOSE INCLUDED IN THE CHARGESHEET
Mohd Riyaz Attari, Mohammad Ghous, Pakistani citizens and residents of Karachi, Salman, Abu Ibrahim. Mohsin Khan, Asif Hussain, Mohd Mohsin, Wasim Ali, Farhad Mohd Shaikh, Mohd Javed, Muslim Khan alias Muslim Raza.
BACKUP PLAN
The two conspirators Mosin and Asif also claimed that they had carried out a backup plan to ensure the accused’s safety.
The plan called for Mosin and Asif to stand far from Kanhaiya Lal’s business, with one of his companions standing close to a scooter. This was done so that if the two accused were to be discovered in the act, the three of them would work together to ensure their safe exit. They declared that they were carrying daggers in case the crowd started to attack them.
