Also, Indian soldiers got to know that, in reality, the infiltrators are the Pakistani army masquerading as terrorists. On May 10, 1999, the Indian army initiated operation Vijay to stop further Infriltation. Soon Indian Air Force Joined this movement and launched air strikes.
After a long dual of one month, the Indian army took back some territories in the Batalik sector of Jammu and Kashmir. After that, the Indian army had the upper hand in the war and then the Indian army started pushing back Pakistani troops from major hilly points. On July 4, the Indian Army captured Tiger Hill. Finally, the Indian army captured all the Indian territories successfully and On July 14, 1999, the Indian prime minister declared the success of Operation Vijay. However, the Indian army kept patrolling for 12 more days when finally on July 26, the Indian army declared the complete success of the Kargil war.
