The third list of 43 candidates for the upcoming elections in Karnataka was revealed by the Congress party on Saturday. Laxman Savadi, a former state deputy chief executive, is the candidate the party is running in the Athani district. Kothur G. Manjunath has been assigned the Kolar seat. This comes after the Congress attacked the BJP, alleging that the party had mistreated its leaders. Former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah stated in a media interview that the BJP should not have handled Savadi in this manner by not even giving him a ticket, notwithstanding the fact that he is a senior party official.
“Laxman Savadi (by the BJP) was not given a ticket. He is a prominent leader, and the BJP shouldn’t have handled him this way. The only stipulation Savadi (to Congress) has made is that he be treated rightly and with respect, the speaker continued.
