Recently, a contractor, Sandip Patil, from Udupi, Karnataka, was found dead on Tuesday.
A suicide note was recovered, and in that note he directly blamed the Karnataka Minister of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj portfolio minister, Mr. Eshwarappa.
Karnataka Minister Mr. Eshwarappa, has demanded a 40% cut for a rural development project.
The contractor has accused that he had done a project of 4 crore and that Karnataka Minister Mr. Eshwarappa demanded 40% of it to clear his bill for the project.Â
Reports say that Mr. Latil was given oral instructions by the Minister for a 4 crore project in the rural part of the state, but it has been more than 18 months since the ministry didn’t clear his bill after completing the project.
To complete the project, he had to borrow the money and sell his wife’s jewellery. Â
According to the reports, the state’s contractors have admitted that there is a culture of commission of 40% cut. Â
After a huge controversy, Mr. Eshwarappa faced a huge controversy after a contractor committed suicide.
After an allegation of corruption, he decided to resign from his position. He resigned from his position on Friday evening.Â
Karnataka Minister Mr. Eshwarappa , Previously, he informed the media that he would give his resignation letter to the chief minister of Karnataka, Mr. Basavaraj Bommai. Â
He thanked the media for cooperation, and he told an ANI reporter that he had decided to resign because he didn’t want to put himself in an uncomfortable situation.
He helped him to rise to his position, just like his senior leaders from the party, CM Bommai and national leaders. Â
His resignation came after the leader of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai, said that Mr. Eshwarappa would keep his job in the cabinet.
And he said that they would wait for the parliamentary inquiry. Â
Karnataka CM Bommai said to the opposition that “Eshwarappa has decided to resign on his own, and will tender his resignation on Friday evening.
” No need for the opposition to become an investigation officer or judge as everything will come out after the probe. ”
A source says that the BJP high command has given strict orders to state party heads to step down Karnataka Minister Mr. Eshwarappa at any cost because the BJP doesn’t want to compromise on their anti-corruption image.
Santhosh messaged Mr. Eshwarappa’s friends and also included Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s name in the message.
For the BJP, this is a case that can damage their clean and anti-corruption image.Â
On Thursday, while leaving for Bangalore from his constituency, Shivamogga, he asked his supporters and friends to not worry as he would be back.
His supporters in Shivamogga protested against his forced resignation.
And he said that all his supporters, friends, well-wishers, and colleagues are supporting him and that he will come back clean and innocent.
Even his old friend, former chief minister of Karnataka, BS Yediyurappa, stood by him and expressed his confidence that he would come back clean from all his allegations. Â
The contractor, Santhosh Brother, demanded Mr. Eshwarappa’s arrest, not for resignation, and the police booked a case against him. His name is No. One in the registered case. Â
Karnataka opposition leaders DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah protest march demanding the arrest of the Minister, Mr. Eshwarappa, who has refused to resign from his position after a huge controversy over a contractor’s suicide allegation. Â
All the opposition leaders were leading a march towards Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai’s residence, but they were all stopped and detained by police.
Even Congress General Secretary Randeep Surjewala was part of the protest. Â
Dk Shivakumar, a Congress leader, was also present. If the BJP has any shame, they will arrest the minister right away.
