Heavy rains have come to be a matter of concern in most of the states this year. In Maharashtra, Delhi, and Bangalore, rains have swiped all these states at least once. Rain has created a lot of havoc for people. Excessive rains have led to even the death of people.Â
Now, a similar situation has occurred in the southern state of India, Karnataka. Recently, the rain has killed around 13 people in Karnataka.
The effect of rains in Karnataka
Heavy rains have created huge havoc in the southern state of Karnataka. It has become so disastrous that it has landed up taking up the life of 13 people. Chief minister (CM) of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai has instructed the officials to pay a visit to the flood-hit area and create the related work on a Spotify basis.
There was also a video meeting held with the deputy commissioners regarding the areas affected due to the flood. The government of Karnataka will be taking necessary actions for the floods and the people who have been stuck in them.
What will the government do?
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, has plans of helping the people stuck in the floods by building relief camps wherever possible. Taking note of the ongoing situation, he has warned the people not to leave any kind of loopholes in the relief systems provided by the government of Maharashtra.Â
He will be taking strict action against those who show negligence during the relief work. Also, further, he made sure that the DCs must avoid lapses.
According to the sources, CM said, “It has come to notice that there have been lapses in some places while recording damages. The DCS must take care to avoid any lapses. The memoranda seeking relief must be based on ground reality”Â
In the meeting between the CM and other offices (offices of SDRF), it was decided that there would be a circular issued for relief. This notice would be an additional circular alongside the guidelines of NDRF for rain damages.
What further?
The DCS will be visiting the flooded areas. They will be making sure that there is compensation for all the damages. There will be a proper distribution for the Tehsildars so that they may compensate for the loss.
The rain in Karnataka has been persisting since October 1, also causing a lot of damage to crops. There is also property fame taking place.
