The Aam Aadmi party’s win in the Punjab assembly elections was called a revolution by Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday. He also mentioned that this revolution would soon happen all over the country.
AAP is all set to form a government in Punjab after having won 92 seats out of 117 assembly seats. Sharing his picture with Bhagwat Mann over his social media handles, Kejriwal wrote, “Many congratulations to the people of Punjab for this revolution.”
Congress’s massive defeat
Meanwhile, Navjot Singh Siddhu humbly accepted his defeat by taking to Twitter and accepting the people’s mandate after Congress’s mighty defeat in Punjab.
AAP’s clear victory in Punjab has left everyone stunned. Bhagwat Mann, the Chief Ministerial candidate for AAP, won from the Dhuri seat by a margin of over 58,000 votes.
Back in 2017, AAP had won only 20 out of 117 seats and today stands at a massive 92. Such a clear sweeping mandate was not even won by Congress in the last election. This shows that Punjab has chosen to move ahead with the Delhi model of governance and therefore chosen a non-congress, non-SAD party for the first time in its history.
Change in a month
Bhagwat Mann announced that he would be taking his oath at Khatkarkalan in Nawanshahr district (Bhagat Singh’s ancestral village) instead of the Punjab Raj Bhawan and promised the people of Punjab that they would be witnessing change within a month.
