Pep Guardiola is keen to sign Arsenal’s full-back. Manchester City continues their hunt in their transfer market to replace their departing Ukrainian full-back Alexsandr Zinchenko.
Zinchenko was forced to leave the Manchester side. Former City full-back wanted to play regular football. He was looking for clubs that can offer him that privilege. This is when the former Man City assistant coach and the current Arsenal head coach stepped in and secured the crucial signing of the Ukrainian full-back.
The city sold the Ukrainian International for 32 million pounds to the North London club Arsenal. They also sold their Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus to the Gunners.
Since then, City has been searching for various options to replace the full-back. The Brighton and Hove Albion’s Spanish left-back and Center Back Marc Cucurella was a player Guardiola was excited to bring in.
Personal terms were agreed upon between the player and the City. But Manchester City couldn’t meet the expectations of the London club. Chelsea was swift enough to make the signing of the Spanish full-back.
The city is well equipped with its main full-back in Joao Cancelo. They are looking to sign a Backup full back and Kieran Tierney has emerged as the new option for the Cityzens.
Zinchenko was an underrated player in the Manchester club’s camp. But he was a vital cog in City’s recent year’s success. He stepped up on occasions and never disappointed the supporters.
Zinchenko has been very flexible to straight away get into the starting eleven of the Arsenal. So,
Tierney’s future seems to be threatening with the North-London club. Meanwhile, City is also on the verge of signing the 21-year-old Spaniard Sergio Gomez from Anderlecht. He is expected to be loaned out for the 2022-23 season.
Along with the Scottish left-back, Alex Grimaldo, Renan Lodi, and Raphael Guerreiro are also on the list for replacing Zinchenko at Manchester City.
It’s high time that City find someone to replace the departing Ukrainian because in case Cancelo gets injured it is going to be very difficult for the Manchester club in the longer term.
