A heart-wrenching road accident near the under-construction Dangduru hydel power project in Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir, resulted in the loss of seven lives and left one person critically injured.
The incident occurred when a car carrying workers of the power project collided head-on with a truck on a narrow road in the Dachan area of district Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir. The collision was so severe that the car plunged into a deep gorge, instantly claiming six lives and injuring two others.
The injured individual later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. Rescue and relief efforts are underway, and authorities, including Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, have expressed their condolences and pledged support to the victims’ families. The Deputy Commissioner of Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav, confirmed the tragic incident and assured that all required assistance would be provided to the affected individuals and their families. The injured person was being transferred to District Hospital Kishtwar or Government Medical College Doda for appropriate medical care.
