According to reports coming out, KL Rahul is all set to miss the upcoming 5-match T20I series against West Indies.Â
Indian cricketer KL Rahul may miss the upcoming 5-match T20I series against the Caribbeans. According to sources, Rahul has recovered from COVID-19 and is expected to fly to the west indies for the shorter format, but BCCI medical experts have advised him to take the rest for one more week. Following that, the chances are high that the LSG skipper may miss the T20I series.
The last couple of months has been very challenging for this opening batsman as he has been facing a series of injuries and medical symptoms since the Windies tour. Earlier in February, Rahul missed the 3-match series against the Carribeans and the series against Sri Lanka due to a hamstring strain. However, he returned to lead his IPL franchise but has been facing difficulties after that. Also, in June, he was all set to lead the men in blue against the Proteas but he had to miss the tour due to a groin injury. Moreover, he missed the England series and went to Germany for treatment.Â
Recently, when everything was looking fine, KL Rahul sustained COVID-19 and couldn’t travel to West Indies. However, he was supposed to return for the T20I series, but according to reports circulating around, he may miss the shorter format as well.
Rahul has been a crucial player for Team India, and his array of injuries can put his position under scrutiny as the Asia cup is approaching. Soon after the Asia cup, the T-20I world cup is expected to be held in Australia in the month of September. Indian fans and KL Rahul himself would be hoping that he recovers as soon as possible and plays for India.Â
