On Friday morning in the Sitholi hamlet of the Prayagraj district of UP, bike riding criminals shot, killed a lawyer. Three people have been named as defendants in the case. As the victim was on his way home, the criminals first called him from behind. Consequently, he was shot in the middle of the road. The defendant then left the area.
When the police arrived, they took the victim to the Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in Prayagraj. Indradev, the victim, passed away while receiving medical attention in the hospital. He was shot on his ride from meerut to muzaffarnagar. In the same location two other legal practitioners were killed in almost the same manner. However police have denied any common ink between these killing which took place in last 15 days.Â
About the lawyer killed by Bike-riding criminals
Gulzar Ahmed was 32 years old lawyer who practiced in a court of Kairana. He was returning to his village which was situated in Shamli. Two unidentified men on motorcycle opened fire at him at a close distance close to the district’s Adarsh Mandi region. Gulzar collapsed and passed away instantly. He was accompanied by a young lawyer, who was similarly roughed up.
Police said “The two individuals on the other motorcycle fired shots at Gulzar and I while we were both riding motorcycles. But, they missed. I sped up as I realised there was danger, but they soon started to pursue us. They shoved us along a lonely stretch, causing our bike to slip and us to fall. Then one of them took out a pistol made in their own country and shot Gulzar once in the chest,” Sachin recounted.
Further Action in the case
The body was later recovered by police and was sent for post-martam. Ajay Kumar, the chief of police in Shamli, stated: “The body has been given to the family and investigations.”are on. We are currently investigating the situation and considering all possibilities. Gulzar was the third lawyer to die in the Meerut Zone in a week. The body of another young attorney, Sameer Saifi, (28) was exhumed by authorities from the jungle in the Bhopal region.
Since October 15, Saifi has not been seen. After a sizable uprising by lawyers against the local government, police sprang into action. They recovered the body, and then apprehended the murderers. A day earlier, a different lawyer in Meerut was fatally murdered outside of his home. Additionally, it sparked huge protests.
A case has been registered against four people who are absconding, Kumar added. Meanwhile, lawyers, led by Kairana bar association president Ram Kumar Vashisht, protested over the killing. They demanded immediate arrest of the accused. — PTI
