Born in December 1984, LeBron James is an American basketball player from Akron, Ohio, United States. Playing for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association, the 37 years old player is nicknamed “King James” is often compared to Michael Jordan and is considered the greatest player in NBA history.
James began his career as a professional basketball player in 2003 after being selected for the 2003 NBA draft by his hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. Towards the end of that season, James became the first player from Cavaliers to receive the NBA rookie of the year award.
LeBron James left the Cavaliers for good in June 2018. Later, his sports management company, Klutch Sports, in early July, announced that the player would be joining the Los Angeles Lakers. As of July 9, 2018, James has been playing as the small forward for the team.
Commenting on his switch between the teams throughout his career span, Rich Paul, LeBron’s agent, in an exclusive interview with Sports Illustrated, said, “In 2010, when he went to Miami, it was about championships.”
In 2014, when he went back to Cleveland, it was to deliver on a promise. In 2018, it was just about doing what he wanted to do.
Returning to the present, the player appears to be rewriting history this season. Earlier this week, James notched 10,000 career points, assists, and rebounds, becoming the first player in league history to achieve the milestone.
In order to claim the title of the all-time No. 1 scorer in NBA history, the Lakers’ ace now requires less than 2000 points to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The veteran American basketball player currently holds the position with 38387 points.
