Liam Livingstone’s ‘outrageous’ six off Mohammed Shami, which has left teammates, cricketers, analysts, and spectators in awe, lighted up the Mumbai night sky on Friday. After scoring an eight-wicket victory against Gujarat Titans in an IPL 2022 match on Tuesday, Livingstone blasted a massive 117-meter six to give Punjab Kings their first victory of the season.
The hit came from the opening ball of the 16th over, which was delivered by Shami when Livingstone blasted a length delivery deep into the square leg zone of the stands.
“Oh, my word,” the commentators said, as soon as Livingstone made the connection and the ball was launched into the air hundreds of feet above the ground.

With merely a wry grin on his face, Shami switched his attention back to his bowling target. Walking towards Livingstone with his bat in hand, GT leg spinner Rashid Khan, who is himself renowned for belting amazing sixes, got a closer look at it.
As PBKS captain Mayank Agarwal stood near the team’s dugout, watching the action develop, he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
After completing a hat-trick of sixes in the first over, Livingstone went on to hit two fours in the next over to help his side over the finish line against the table-toppers at DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai.
“I’m swinging as hard as I can. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to out to bat at one point, so it was good to go out and whack a few balls up the middle “It was a frenzy,” Livingstone said of his undefeated knockout of 30 out of 10.
Agarwal was pleased with Livingstone’s efforts to improve the PBKS NRR, which might become a crucial factor in the team’s ability to advance to the playoffs as the competition advances. His play was excellent, as was his ability to get the score swiftly. When we arrived at that stage, two things were virtually obvious: if we can score it as soon as possible, we will be able to improve the Net Run-Rate, and if we can score it as quickly as possible, we will be able to improve the Net Run-Rate “he said.
As a result of the victory, PBKS moved up to fifth place in the rankings, providing a significant boost to their chances of making it to the postseason.
