Blackpink’s Lisa creates History and is all set to shine on the Asian Hall of Fame. She will be the first K-pop idol to get inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Lisa will be receive a prestigious title of “cultural icon” at the HALL of Fame. With this achievement she has now joined the legendary personalities such as Ryuichi Sakamoto and Freddie Mercury.
The Asian Hall of Fame, was establish to recognize the contribution done by Asians in promote cross-cultural understandings. It was established in 2004.
As Lisa is a member of famous k-pop girl group Blackpink, she has done a great job in terms of her solo and group representation. She will received this award because of her cultural contribution to the fields of arts.
Lisa’s real name is Lalisa Manobal, she began her journey in k-pop world with the band name Blackpink in 2016, after few years of being trainee. She debuted in 2016 alongside her bandmates Jisoo, Jennie and Rose, who all are now focusing on their individual careers too. The bands contract renewal with its agency YG Entertainment is under discussion as the band celebrates their seventh anniversary this year.
Lisa was the first non-Korean idol to join YG Entertainment which is one of the biggest entertainment company in South Korea. Over the time, she influenced a lot of people and achieve a lot of love from her fans. She also hold a record for K-pop idol having the highest number of Instagram followers, which is 96.8 million fans.
Big renowned brands like Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, Celine and Dior have been captivated by her fashion sense and by her enchanting beauty, brand like Celine selected her as their muse. She is a global brand ambassador of many luxurious brands and has partnered with the brands such as Mac, Penshoppe, Bulgari, Adidas, Chivas Regal, AIS Thailand and several other cosmetic brands from South Korea so far.
Lisa made her solo debut with her album named as ‘Lalisa,’ in September 2021, for which she achieved groundbreaking success. 736,000 copies were sold within its first week in South Korea, because of which it became the first album by a female artist/idol to sell this amount of copies.
The music video of the album’s track gathered immense love from the fans, and it got 73.6 views on YouTube within a single day of released. It also set a new bar for any solo artists to achieve this mark. Her album’s tracks the viral single ‘Money’ and ‘Lalisa’ both secured spots in Billboards top 10 Global 200.
Her album ‘Lalisa’ also became the first album to surpass 1 billion on Spotify (streams) by a k-pop artist. Followed by her journey, she has received numerous awards and achieved a lot in her field. She also achieved seven prestigious music awards and Guinness World Records. She also hold record of the most-followed k-pop artist on Instagram since 2019.
The ceremony for the award is set for October 21, in Los Angeles at the Biltmore Hotel.
