Malala meets flood-affected people, on her second trip to Pakistan.
Nobel Laureate Winner Malala Yusufzai visits her motherland after 4 years to meet the survivors of the recent flood which took place in August, this is her second trip to Pakistan after the last incident, where she was shot in her head by the Taliban because she raised her voice for girl’s education.
Malala visited Dadu district Johi earlier on Wednesday, to meet and see the conditions of the local survivors who got devastated by the floods which took place in august. Almost 33 million people’s lives were affected by the floods, and over one-third population of Pakistan was displaced underwater and causing damage estimated at $28 million.

Education minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah and Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho of Sindh also escorted her along with singer Shehzad Roy. Talking about the floods, Mrs Yusufzai urged the international community to provide financial assistance and help to the people who have been badly affected by the flood.
The purpose of her visit is to keep the international community focused on the impact of floods in Pakistan and reinforce the need for critical humanitarian aid, her organization Malala fund stated.
The situation caused by the flood is getting worse day by day, and diseases like cholera, malnutrition, and diarrhoea have been reported in many affected areas.
NOBEL WINNER SPENDS TIME WITH WOMEN AND CHILDREN
Malala also had a meeting with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and Research and development foundation (RDF), the organizations which have been assigned to help the people affected by the flood. Not only that, but Yusufzai also went on to meet the women and the kids who are currently sheltered in a safe zone. Reports suggest that Malala almost spend two hours with them to know the conditions and the problems they are facing.
Shah, the education minister also filled her in on the details of the measures taken by the government to help flood victims, reportedly 12000 schools have given shelter to almost two million children in Sindh. Yusufzai expressed her concern over the education of these children.
She also paid a visit to Main Nara Valley Drain (MNVD), which is under operation to carry floodwaters. Deputy Commissioner Murtaza Ali Shah briefed her on the details carried out by MNVD.
Yusufzai spent some time in a girls’ school, where she met them and gave her time to them.” Their morale was high and their spirit for receiving an education was commendable”, she said. CM Shah urged her to meet more kids to uplift their spirit towards education, the social activist happily agreed to meet and give time to more kids and share the importance of education with them.
CM Shah thanked her for her visit and also presented her with many gifts as a token of appreciation for her time to these victims.
