Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) announced the seventh round of its ‘Mobility & Automobile Innovation Lab'(MAIL) initiative on Thursday. The company invited entries from young startups in the mobility , tech and innovation space to apply for the programme.Â
This initiative began in 2019 to identify and bring different startups together in order to enhance collaboration and work towards the common goal of creating tech based solutions in the automobile and mobility space. Considering this vision, winning startups would get an opportunity to undertake a paid Proof-of-concept with the company.Â
Every shortlisted startup will be given the chance to bring their idea to life alongside showcasing their entrepreneurial proficiency. These startups would be mentored by Industry experts in the startup ecosystem.Â
The company has been working with various startups since the past several cohorts in the field of logistics, digital transformation and energy management and continues to drive more innovation.Â
India has seen a humongous growth in the number of startups in the past six years. As per an economic survey released this year, India became the third largest startup ecosystem in the world after the US and China. Forty four Indian startups turned unicorns in 2021 itself. This wave of startups has also brought with itself a new wave of innovation
