On Wednesday morning, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre said the 6.2 earthquakes struck Guatemala. The Earthquake was at a depth of 96km and around 40km southwest of Mazatenango.
Massive Earthquake hits Central American Nations
On Wednesday morning, the quake hit the Central American nation with the epicenter in Nueva Concepción, the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said.
EMSC said that the Earthquake was at a depth of 96 km (60 miles).
The major Earthquake measuring 6.2 in magnitude happened in Guatemala, even reducing the buildings to rubble.
According to reports, the initial tremor was felt at 1.12 am local time, before two aftershocks followed at 1.50 am and 1.56 am, measuring 5 and 4.8.
Other countries to feel the forces were El Salvador and Mexico.
To understand this previously, last week there have been 15 minor quakes were seen in the Pacific Ocean and the coasts of Mexico, El Salvador, and Santa Rosa.
On Sunday, according to the INSIVUMEH, it comes after a so-called earthquake swarm hit Guatemala nation, with 15 tremors felt in 24 hours.
It was measured around 3.2 and 5 on the Richter scale.
As per the National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction has confirmed no injuries or infrastructure damage.
