MI Notebook Ultra: First Impressions


It entered the market with the MI Notebook 14 last year, owing to the increasing market demand of laptops due to sudden popularity of OTT platforms and work from home culture.

Creating a disruptive impact in the electronics industry with its smartphones and TVs, Xiaomi is now looking ahead to escalate its reach in the laptops market. The second entrant is the Redmi Book 15 which was launched earlier this month.

Now, Xiaomi has come with yet another amazing delight for the costumers. The slender and sleek MI Notebook Ultra is beautifully designed for smart productivity equipped with a large 15.6-inch display, a high refresh rate, intel core processors, and an efficient battery life.

A Quick Review

The Mi Notebook Ultra is crafted from the 6-series aerospace grade aluminum alloy that is about 1.4 times stronger than the 5-series aluminum alloy which can give you a bit relaxation on keeping it extra-safe.

The seamless build of the laptop is the major attraction with a lustrous gray body color. With thickness of just 17.9 mm, it weighs 1.7 kg, which is appreciable provided its large build.

When you flip the lid open in the centre of which there is a shiny black Xiaomi logo, you will notice the magnificence of the flagship LCD display of 15.6-inch with a 16:10 aspect ratio which is contrary to previous versions with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

The display comes with a 3.2K resolution (2560×1600), 90 Hz refresh rate, 300 nits peak brightness and 100 percent sRGB gamut. It possesses a non-reflective matte texture, narrow borders and a webcam of 720 pixels at the top of the screen.

The TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light protection in the screen, filters the blue light without affecting its color accuracy. It enables reduced eye fatigue, thanks to the DC dimming which ensures minimum flicker.

The Laptop has a full size keyboard with a larger trackpad. The power button is incorporated with a fingerprint sensor which is highly user convenient. It also has a unique macro key which is usually found in gaming keyboards. The laptop’s lid doesn’t flex making it a lot more easier to operate.

The laptop’s processor is based on the ‘Tiger Lake H-35’ architecture. It is available with two processor models: intel core i5-11300H 11th Gen and intel core i7-11370 11th Gen. Both variants have quad-core CPUs with Hyper Threading and integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics.

The body of the laptop is equipped with one Thunderbolt 4 Type-C port, one USB 3.2 Type-C port, one USB 3.2 Type-A port along with an HDMI video output and a 3.5 mm audio socket.

Other specifications include dual 2W stereo speakers in addition to the obvious Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1.

The Mi Notebook Ultra is a complete laptop with both personal and professional suitability, with its base variant starting at Rs. 56,999. You can go for this laptop if you are an enthusiast who loves extraordinary gadgets.
