A video depicting a minor girl student recklessly driving a bus in Udhampur, Jammu, and Kashmir, while being assisted by the bus driver has gone viral on the internet, according to the film’s creators. Notably, the bus, which was traveling on the Udhampur-Lander route, was being driven by a student from Panchairi Government Higher Secondary School, who was in the 11th grade.
It was observed that the bus driver seated next to her was instructing the young lady on how to operate the vehicle while she was gripping the steering wheel. Â
A little girl from Ikram approached the bus driver and announced that she would be driving it. He then passed the steering wheel over to her. For a time, she snatched the steering wheel and took the wheel of the bus. Other passengers, on the other hand, captured her driving on their phones.
When the bus was piloted by an 11th-grade student from Government Higher Secondary School in Panchayati, it was traveling on the Udhampur-Lander route. Meanwhile, the bus driver seated next to her was observing and instructing the young lady on how to operate the steering wheel. Â
Notably, the bus was jam-packed with passengers; many of them were schoolchildren. A beginner driver would be exceedingly risky on this route due to the mountainous terrain and lack of experience.
Even a minor oversight could have resulted in the bus carrying hundreds of passengers plunging into a chasm hundreds of feet deep. The district government took fast action against the bus driver after becoming aware of the footage, which went viral on the internet. Â
According to ARTO Udhampur Jugal Kishor, in response to the video, the tape demonstrates how the bus driver was attempting to teach the girl how to operate the bus, which amounted to risky behavior.
At the direction of the district administration, the bus with the registration number JK14G-2734 has been impounded. The bus driver’s license and permission have also been revoked by the transportation department for putting the lives of passengers in danger while driving.Â
An official said, “The motor vehicle department in Udhampur took swift action and seized the vehicle for dangerous driving and putting human lives at risk, one of the contraventions of the Motor Vehicle Act.” Â
According to a spokeswoman, proceedings have been launched for the suspension of the driver’s driving license as well as the route permission. The bus driver has been summoned, and he will be interrogated today, according to police.
According to the official, another vehicle operating on the same route has also been detained for operating without proper documentation. He urged all motorists to adhere to the regulations of the road to the letter.
