The family burial place used by the family of a don-politician will be the location of Asad Ahmed’s funeral on Friday in Prayagraj. Asad is the murdered son of notorious criminal Atiq Ahmed. According to accounts, he will be buried adjacent to his grandfather’s final resting place.
Asad, Atiq Ahmed’s son, and Ghulam, a close friend of Atiq Ahmed, were shot and killed by Uttar Pradesh police on Thursday during an encounter in Jhansi. Both had a Rs. 5 lakh bounty on their heads and were sought in connection with the murder of Umesh Pal. Asad was most recently seen hitting Pal in a CCTV video that has been circulating. Since then, he has been hiding.
According to the police, Asad’s remains would be given to his family following a postmortem. However, there has been uncertainty regarding the site because since the morning, officials have been switching the location of the corpse handover.
At first, it was reported by sources that Asad’s body will be delivered at Jhansi. Then they announced that there had been a last-minute adjustment and that the body will now be transported to Prayagraj by the police before being given to distant family members there.
Asad’s relatives have been advised once more by Prayagraj police to remove the body from Jhansi as they will not be bringing the lifeless remains to the city. See the tweet below about this incident recorded.
According to sources, Atiq, who is currently in jail, won’t be able to attend his son’s funeral. In connection with the triple homicide of attorney Umesh Pal and his two police guards, a Prayagraj court sentenced Atiq and his brother Ashraf to 14 days in judicial detention on Thursday.
At 11:10 am, the two were brought before Chief Judicial Magistrate Dinesh Gautam under tight security, despite the fact that a bystander had thrown a bottle at the gangster as he was being dragged into court.
After learning of his son Asad’s passing, Atiq reportedly started crying in a courtroom in Prayagraj. However, Umesh Pal’s mother and wife commended Yogi Adityanath for the chief minister’s leadership and declared that “justice has been served.”
ATIQ AHMED ASKED TO ATTEND SON’S LAST RITES
Atiq Ahmed and his sibling Ashraf, according to sources, were interrogated separately on the nights between Thursday and Friday. At the Dhumanganj police station in Prayagraj, the questioning started at one in the morning and went on until seven.
According to sources, Atiq cried for his son and kept lamenting that his family had been destroyed. He begged the police to let him attend Asad’s funeral ceremonies. Also check: Ballistic missiles fired: alarming provocation by North Korea
Recently, News18 learned that the gangster-turned-politician reportedly broke down once more and reiterated the warning from chief minister Yogi Adityanath. Atiq exclaimed inconsolably, “Mitti mein mil gaye hum (We’ve been reduced to dust)”.
He said, “It’s entirely my fault. None of it involved Asad in any way. No one is capable of taking care of my small boys and brothers. The criminal was reportedly cited as saying that the greatest sadness in the world is when an elderly parent has carry his small son’s body on his shoulders. In addition, Atiq asked for permission to meet his wife because their son had passed away.
Atiq and his brother Ashraf are currently being held in Prayagraj at an undisclosed location. On the basis of their information, sources claimed that a raid may occur on Friday. The two are being held by police until April 17 in the evening. Full Story here
