Whether it’s a job or a shoot, AEW seems to be attempting to completely obliterate MJF’s existence at the present. The newest development in the MJF vs. AEW issue is that the promotion has removed him entirely off their AllEliteWrestling.com roster site and also the AEWShop.com website. If you try to access their store website, you will obtain a “404 Error” code.
Furthermore, MJF was not featured in any of the YouTube videos posted by AEW last night, nor was he in any one of the press images distributed by “AEW Dynamite.”
MJF returned for the second portion of the program and gave his divisive promo in which he criticized AEW and attacked AEW President Tony Khan, stating that Khan prefers to recruit former WWE stars to large contracts. MJF, microphone in hand, justified himself by stating that he had to work his way up in the firm from the bottom up at a time when he thought AEW was always about the EVPs looking out for their pals.
When it comes to obtaining contract cash, MJF must now compete monetarily with the freed competitors. Of course, he said that he is statistically the company’s second-largest ratings pull. He then demanded his release before an expletive-laced diatribe resulted in his microphone being cut, followed by a blackout to commercials and lots of online buzzes.
CM Punk stepped out after the commercial break to confront MJF before the disgraced star exited through the crowd.
Before MJF was confirmed for “AEW Dynamite”, it looked like he may not be on the show due to a stretcher job he performed during the Wardlow bout at AEW Double or Nothing. Not just that, but Tony Khan declined to comment on the matter in the aftermath of the PPV. Later on, it was rumored that Khan and MJF will meet together.
Rumors arose this weekend over MJF’s PPV status when he failed to attend for a planned Fan Fest appearance, and rumors surfaced early Sunday that he was not spotted backstage before the festivities began.
