Students of Magadh University on Tuesday went on protest for the delay in examination and the results of the past examination.
Hundreds of students went to the protest and they brought banners and posters for the protest. Students were displeased with the inordinate delay in the examinations and the result of the past examinations.
Students raised many slogans and bring banners in which many slogans were against the state government and the university authority.
Protesters were marching towards the Raj Bhavan and meeting the chancellor, Phagu Chauhan. The police stopped the protester before they reached Raj Bhavan. Police used mild force to stop the protestors.
The protestors include boys and girls of the university and they tried to enter the unrestricted areas of the Bhavan during that there was a scuffle between the police and the students.
The police said they only used mid-force to remove and prevent protestors from entering the raj Bhavan. Some students were lifted to clear the blockade near Eco Park.
Protestors were also trying to reach CM Nitish Kumar at his residence to submit a request or memorandum but they were forced to leave by the policeman on duty.
Students have alleged that the MU has no authority to listen and act upon the students’ grievances. The student said the authority in charge does not even bother to visit the university to sort out the student’s grievances.
Many students who talked to the media during the protest said that they have not gotten their degree for like 6 years which took 3 years to complete.
The undergraduate session of 2017-20, 2018-21, 2019-22 and 2020-23 is delayed so the student in those sessions is not eligible for any competitive exams.
