In recent years, India has witnessed a surge in the unemployment rate. Indian youngsters claim it as the fault of Modi’s government. Instead of considering September 17th as Narendra Modi’s birthday, netizens claim it as National Unemployment Day.
Why is national unemployment day viral on Modi’s birthday?

Despite the development schemes, Modi’s government has failed to notice the unemployment issues addressed by the youth.

It is clearly evident from the statistical report that the unemployment rate has gradually increased from the year 2014 to 2022.
According to the CMIE report, the detailed analysis from January to April 2022 showed the rate of unemployment among graduates was 17.8%
Every year, 6.5 million students graduate. Not everyone who graduates gets a job. There is no vacancy for many youngsters. This leads to unemployment and underemployment.
Underemployment is a growing crisis in India. where youngsters are not able to find jobs related to their qualifications. Another issue is that employers have lowered the pay scale due to inflation.
Back then, in 2014, Narendra Modi gave a vow to create 2 crore jobs in India. To date, there is no evidence of the measures taken to create jobs.
Netizens are provoking Modi’s government to fulfil the vow. As a developing country, India has to focus on creating new employment opportunities to meet unemployment.
Twitter is flooded with a lot of tweets and hashtags saying that Indian youths are celebrating National Unemployment Day. The youth seem to raise their voice against unemployment in India.
As India has the world’s largest young population, it is the government’s responsibility to address the national unemployment crisis.
