Sharad Pawar, the leader of the NCP, will speak in front of the public in Karad amid the political crisis in Maharashtra. Chief minister YB Chavan will also be present in the meeting.
At 10 a.m. today, the party leader will pay a visit to the Preeti-Sangam memorial in honor of Yashwantrao Chavan, the first Maharashtra C.M. and his political mentor, shared by NCP. The party has urged Mr. Pawar’s supporters to show up to the monument in a tweet.
The speech by Ajit Pawar in Karad, which has implications for national politics, is scheduled to be the first public event after Pawar joined the Shiv Sena-BJP coalition in Maharashtra and took office as deputy chief minister on Sunday, ahead of the Lok Sabha and assembly elections next year.
Atul Londhe, a spokesperson for the Maharashtra Congress, stated that debate is currently taking place over which party will name the Opposition’s Leader in the state assembly. After the NCP lost its MLA to the Shiv-Sena BJP coalition, which also included Ajit Pawar, there is now a discussion over the LoP.
Ajit Pawar’s decision to join the Shinde-Fadnavis administration occurred as opposition parties worked to unite in order to defeat the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections the following year.
Eknath Shinde, the leader of the Shiv Sena, and 40 of his supporters left Uddhav Thackeray’s camp in order to join the BJP in forming the government in 2022.
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Shiv Sena, two regional parties in Maharashtra, have seen two splits in the past year thanks to the efforts of the BJP. While Shinde was able to seize the party’s control, it is still unclear whether Ajit Pawar was able to revive the NCP, which was founded in 1999 by his uncle.
This is hardly a brand-new administration; PM Modi oversaw the Shiv Sena and the BJP government at the time. The Maharashtra CM stated that development work was ongoing and that Ajit Pawar, who supported the work, joined the cabinet. He and his MLAs are warmly welcomed by me. He has a sizable number of MPs and MLAs, which will undoubtedly aid Maharashtra’s development. The speed of a bullet train will now be reached by this double-engine government.
The Maha Vikas Aghadi administration is dysfunctional. It is a hit wicket, Shinde continued, “We clearly can see who has been clean bowled”. The Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar has received a disqualification petition from the NCP party about its nine leaders.
We have submitted a petition for disqualification to the Assembly Speaker, and we will deliver hard copies as soon as we can. NCP leader Jayant Patil stated that this petition for disqualification was filed against nine leaders and that a letter had also been issued to the Election Commission of India.
Udhav Thackray claims Ajit will replace Ekhnat Shinde
Ajit Pawar, the head of the Nationalist Congress Party, was sworn in as the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra yesterday, according to the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT), which declared on Monday that he will shortly succeed Eknath Shinde as chief minister. Shinde would be dismissed from the position of CM, according to MP Sanjay Raut, and 16 rebel Shiv Sena MLAs will be disqualified.
Sharad Pawar, his uncle who formed the NCP 24 years ago, was shocked when Ajit Pawar led a vertical split within the party to become the deputy CM. In the Shinde-BJP government, 8 NCP leaders were also sworn in as ministers. Team Uddhav asserted in an editorial in its publication Saamana that Ajit Pawar has joined Eknath Shinde’s party not for deputy CM but to replace Shinde altogether.
It continued by saying that when Shinde and other Shiv Sena legislators defected last year, they held Uddhav Thackeray accountable for failing to rein in Ajit Pawar as former finance minister, who had assumed complete control over money transfers and work order approval.
Their “Hindutva” is no longer relevant. It will not be long before Shinde and his rebellious friends are eliminated. The Marathi publication went on to state that this is the real significance of Sunday’s occurrence.
Devendra Fadnavis, a BJP politician and deputy chief minister, came under fire from Team Uddhav for remarks he allegedly made about joining forces with the NCP, the corrupt party and for failing to mention that Ajit Pawar was allegedly involved in an irrigation scam involving Rs 70,000 crore.
