After the release of the Cred commercial, everyone became a fan of Neeraj Chopra’s incredible acting skills, and the netizens couldn’t keep calm. They are demanding an Oscar for the gold-medallist athlete and watching how the ad goes viral by each passing hour; he might get one.

Olympian Neeraj Chopra made the whole country proud by winning the gold medal in Olympics, which was held in Tokyo this year. After that, he became a youth icon of the country. Recently, the 23-year-old athlete has taken the whole internet by storm through his impressive acting skills.

Neeraj Chopra has featured in a commercial for a credit card management platform, ‘Cred.’ Previously, the credit card management platform made Rahul Dravid into “Indira Nagar ka Gund,” the dada of Bollywood Jackie Shroff into a Zumba instructor and singing legend Kumar Sanu into a salesperson.

This particular ad shows the javelin star not only one but several different wacky avatars, which are absolutely hilarious to watch. It includes the athlete portraying the roles of a journalist, a cashier, a marketing executive, a filmmaker and an aspiring javelin thrower.

The advertisement seems to have perfectly captured the current craze around Chopra and the country’s new love, ‘Javelin’ with a catchy chorus “Javelin meri aankhon mein, javelin meri saason mein” which is certainly the highlight of the whole commercial.

The joyful commercial took a dig at the media frenzy around the Olympic star when he returned from Tokyo. The ad was posted two days ago, and it has racked up over million views and thousands of ‘likes’ on all social media platforms, which is a big milestone.

Actor Siddharth Malhotra and former cricketer Virendra Sehwag were among many people who praised the creative ad and the stars involved in it.

According to the certain sources, the ad director of this commercial of Cred Ayappa KM described Neeraj Chopra as “the opposite of Dravid.”

He added that the athlete just wanted to have fun on the set. He was just chilling and having a great time and often burst out laughing between the shots. Photographer Atul Kasbekar applauded the Olympian’s ability to laugh at himself.

Chopra’s commercial also accelerated a series of meme online, and netizens compared him to several Bollywood actors. Some users are not able to believe that it’s him in the ad, while others are suggesting replacing Akshay Kumar with him in his biopic, which is really funny to read.

Again, the internet didn’t miss the chance to bring down the nepotism kids, calling their acting skills nothing compared to the athletes’.

The nearly three-year-old startup Cred is famous for its creative, unique and nostalgic commercials. A lot of ads by the company is going viral these days, be it Rahul Dravid’s anger issues on Bengaluru’s traffic.

The organisation brought Bollywood celebs such as Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Govinda and composer Bappi Lahiri for a series of ads in 2020.

Notably, the team behind the viral creatives is known collective rather than an agency. The choice of writers expresses the increasing need for creatives to work well on digital mediums.

It’s an association of writers and creators once associated with the comedy outfit All India Bakchod (AIB), including Tanmay Bhat, Devaiah Bopanna, Puneet Chadha, Nupur Pai and Vishal Dayama. A number of them are trained advertising and media professionals.

Tanmay and his team craft the script with quirky humour- something that’s noticeable across all CRED campaigns. They’ve also made good use of celebrities. The Cred brand of humour is quite sophisticated and matches the brand’s TG – who are upmarket urban Indians.

Hence, the ad begins with a sharply dressed Jim Sarbh sitting in a premium-looking lounge, talking about all the benefits CREDs’ has to offer.

Cred has mentioned that their current advertisement campaign has more ads in the pipeline, which is a great news for the audience who loves their creative content.

After they made an actor out of an athlete Neeraj Chopra, everyone is waiting for all the fun content they have to offer.
