According to airport officials, a plane travelling from Pokhara to Jomsom in Nepal with 22 passengers on board lost touch early Sunday morning. It went lost in the country’s mountainous area.
Tara Air’s 9 NAET twin-engine aircraft took off at 9.55 a.m. and disappeared from radar shortly after. A helicopter was dispatched to track down the jet, which should have landed 25 minutes after taking off.
According to a Jomsom Airport air traffic controller, there has been an unverified report of a loud boom in the region. The plane is said to have crashed in the Dhaulagiri region.
The suspected accident site has been found, according to Tara Air spokeswoman Sudarshan Bartaula. He went on to say that the plane was over 30 years old.

Four Indians and two other foreign nationalities are aboard the missing plane. According to official media, the remaining passengers are Nepalese citizens.
The Indian Embassy in Nepal is in contact with the relatives of the Indian passengers on the plane.
Police in Nepal are on the Lookout
Vishnu, a spokeswoman for Nepal Police, told India Today exclusively, “The plane has vanished. It’s been two hours, and no one has been able to locate it. The hunt is on. The Nepali Army uses a private chopper to search for the jet.”
He said, “The police are also searching for the land route. The effort is made more difficult by bad weather and challenging terrain.”
TARA AIR’S Offical Statement
The Tara Air DHC-6 Twin Otter flight 9N-AET from Pokhara to Jomsom at 9:55 a.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2022, was reported to have lost communication today.
Three staff members and 19 passengers were among the 22 individuals on board.
Twelve Nepalis, four Indians, and two Germans are among the passengers. At 10:07 a.m., the jet contacted Jomsom Tower at Ghodepani.”

The search was carried out by helicopters dispatched from Jomsom. However, the helicopters were forced to return owing to bad weather.
Search and rescue helicopters are on standby at Kathmandu and Jomsom airports.
The search will continue as soon as the weather improves. Rescue teams from the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Tara Air have been sent. It went on to say that further information would be released in a later press release.
