- The new NCA is the dream project of BCCI.Â
- The new academy will be equipped with 40 pitches and 200 rooms.Â
- The new NCA will take 45 acres of property.Â
The BCCI’s long-stalled dream project has finally gotten underway. President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah of the BCCI lay the foundation stone for the new campus in Bengaluru on Monday. NCA Chief VVSÂ Laxman was also present during this time.
Other BCCI officials in attendance included Sourav Ganguly and Laxman. In this regard, Jay Shah stated that we would offer a fresh look to the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore for the bright future of the young cricketers of India, which is formed today.Â
LAST YEAR BCCI LAUNCHED THEIR DREAM PROJECTÂ
VVS Laxman was named the National Cricket Academy’s director. The BCCI purchased land near Bangalore airport for the National Cricket Academy building. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, construction work could not begin here. Under the leadership of Jay Shah, the BCCI’s ideal project has already started in Teva.
The NCA complex is currently housed at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, as you may know. Since its formation in 2000, the NCA has operated out of the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, located in the middle of the city. The BCCI has rented Ground B from the Karnataka State Cricket Association, which owns the stadium, for outdoor practice, an indoor practice facility, and a separate room for a contemporary gymnasium. Â
FACILITIES OF NEW COMPLEXÂ
The new NCA complex features state-of-the-art amenities, like a gym with player rooms. The site has a 16-thousand-square-foot gym, a 40-practice pitch, more than 200 rooms, an open-air theatre, and an indoor training facility for cricketers’ children. The new facility, which is likely to be completed within a year, will feature three grounds for domestic matches.Â
WHAT KIND OF ARRANGEMENTS ARE IN PLACE FOR INDIAN CRICKETERS?Â
- The new NCA site will build a 16,000 square-foot gym with cutting-edge equipment.Â
- There will be the Indian players’ rehabilitation center.Â
- In 45 acres of land, there will be roughly 40 practice pitches. In 20 of these, floodlights will be installed.Â
- From the 243 rooms reserved for players, a sum of Rs 1 crore will be set aside for the children of cricketers. (A cricketer’s crutch is a particular arrangement, such as a babysitter, to keep his children while he practices.)Â
- An open-air theatre, a temperature-controlled pool, and indoor training are available.Â
- The new NCA facility will have a bank, pharmacy, hospital, courier, saloon, ATM, cycling track, basketball, tennis, futsal courts, and other amenities.Â
