New York Fashion Week is set to place at the 5th Avenue for the first time next month.
Presented by Fifth Avenue Association, the events will be held at 608 fifth avenue, between East 48th and 49th Avenues, across from Saks fifth avenue and Rockefeller Center.
Jerome Barth, President of Fifth Avenue Association, said,
“A home to the most iconic heritage brands in Fashion, Fifth Avenue is excited to watch the future of fashion walk to the runway at 608 in September.
This is only the beginning; our long-term goal is to turn Fifth Avenue as a centralized location for the fashion week.”
NYFW SCHEDULE:
The New York Fashion Week is scheduled to begin on 8th September, with the Supima Design Competition.
The Competition will be hosted by the famed stylist, Law Roach; six finalists from the top-notch fashion schools will display their collections of sheer luxury to the esteemed panels of judges. The winner will be awarded a $10,000 prize.
The New York Fashion Week will wrap up bags and baggage on 12th September with a noteworthy show from KavenLiu, Koreano and Klova from Nolcha at 8 P.M.
Foods and beverages will be at tables from the well-known Parisian Tea Salon Angelina, and shows will be live-streamed in partnership with ShopShops.
According to CDC and New York City guidelines, in-person events will occur, and proof of complete COVID-19 vaccinations is mandatory for the event visitors.
There is a reduced capacity of guests at all the venues, and mask-wearing will be pressurized, except in the areas of drinking and eating and when models walk the ramp.
Everything about the New York Fashion Week will be based on all things American. A diverse line-up of ninety-one designers, including Prabal Gurung, Gabriela Hearst, Sergio Hudson, and LaQuan Smith, are geared up for the event.
Many consider New York Fashion Week to be non-influential in comparison to London and Paris. Still, CFDA orchestrated it in this way, purposely shortening it to five days to include all the American Designers who show outside of the official NYFW dates.
This is to strengthen NYFW for the future and charm the global media and retail.
CFDA is guiding the best out the designers during this heightened pandemic and will include international design houses from Moschino by Jeremy Scott and Peter Dundas of Dundas.
So, stay tuned, as it will be intriguing to see the anniversary collections of the designers and walk the runway.
