Nuh, Haryana: In a significant development, the Haryana Police have apprehended an accused individual allegedly involved in the communal violence that erupted in the Nuh district last month. The accused, identified as Aamir and a resident of Didhara village, was taken into custody after a brief encounter with law enforcement officials in the Tauru area of the district.
The Nuh violence had led to the unfortunate deaths of six people, including two home guards and a cleric, when clashes erupted during the Vishva Hindu Parishad’s Braj Mandal Yatra on July 31. Aamir, known to be a career criminal, had a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head and is believed to have been involved in approximately 100 criminal activities in the Delhi NCR region, primarily targeting high-profile showrooms for burglaries. In addition, he is also suspected in a murder case in the Tauru region.

Encounter and Arrest
Aamir, who was suspected of being involved in the communal violence, was reportedly hiding in the Aravalli hills near Tauru. Acting on credible inputs, a search operation was launched by the police to locate the accused and his associates. During the encounter, Aamir allegedly opened fire at the police, resulting in retaliatory gunfire that led to a bullet injury in his leg. He was promptly captured and taken into police custody.
Recovery of Firearms and Injuries
The search of Aamir’s possession resulted in the discovery of a country-made pistol along with five cartridges. Following his arrest, Aamir was transported to Nalhar Medical College for medical treatment related to his injury sustained during the encounter. This incident marked the second instance of police encountering individuals linked to the Nuh communal violence within a week.
Community Handover of Accused
In a separate development, residents of Singar village handed over five accused individuals related to the July 31 communal violence to the police. The handover came after repeated appeals by law enforcement authorities and local administration. The five accused, identified as Juber, Salman, Ansar, Rafiq, and Abu Bakar, were subsequently arrested and questioned.
Efforts to Maintain Peace
District Commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata, along with Superintendent of Police Narender Bijarnia, held meetings with prominent figures from 262 villages to discuss strategies aimed at preserving peace in the region and encouraging the surrender of accused individuals to the police.
Rumors and Social Media
In the aftermath of the violence, there have been attempts to spread rumors through social media platforms. The police have taken action against those involved in such activities. An FIR was registered against 12 individuals for spreading rumors on social media, and one person was arrested in connection with this case. The Superintendent of Police emphasized that the police would firmly deal with those propagating rumors and urged the public to exercise caution and not believe baseless claims.
Ongoing Investigations and Arrests
As the investigation into the communal violence continues, a total of 280 individuals have been arrested thus far, and 61 FIRs have been registered. The police are vigorously looking for other accused individuals who are also believed to be hiding in the Aravalli hills.
