Nurse uses only one syringe to vaccinate approx. 30 students of a school; booked. On questioning, claims that it wasn’t his fault.
A criminal case was recently filed against a nursing student, Jitendra Ahirwar, allegedly hired by the health department. He was hired to administer the vaccinations of the students.
The parents of the students observed that the vaccinator is using only one syringe to inoculate 39 children. The incident took place during a Covid vaccination camp for school students at Jain Public Higher Secondary School in Sagar city, Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday.
After the parents protested about the incident, Sagar’s in-charge collector sent the CMHO to inspect the matter further.
The Sagar District Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. DK Goswami informed that the district immunization officer was using a private set of individuals for the mega vaccination campaign.
The cops arrested Ahirwar on Thursday evening from Sagar city and was sent to jail as informed by Kamal Singh Thakur who is the in-charge of the Gopalganj police station.
About Jitendra who used only one syringe to vaccinate the students
As per sources, Jitendra turns out to be a college student which might be a part of a private university situated in Sagar. His name recently surfaced in connection with an alleged interstate racket for false degrees and mark sheets that was allegedly uncovered by the Hyderabad Police.
It must also be observed that those 39 children are aged 15 and above (classes 9 to 12). Additionally, the blood reports of 19 students who were vaccinated didn’t showcase any sign of infection as of now. Whereas, reports of the remaining lot are yet to come in.
The district immunization officer of Sagar city has also been suspended due to the act of negligence of his duty.
When the CMHO Goswami came to school for inquiring, Ahirwar escaped and his phone was also switched off.
However, in a video of the accused vaccinator claimed that head of department dropped him at the school and asked him to use only one syringe that was provided to him. Ahirwar further added that it was not his fault. While he was also aware that using one syringe to inject many people is not advisable and safe.
Well, the FIR was lodged against him for negligence and blatantly violating the Central government’s “one needle, one syringe, one-time” pledge.
The Union Ministry for Health and Family Welfare had promised a stringent “One needle, one syringe, only one-time” policy a month before COVID-19 immunization began in India in January 2021.

Now, further, it will be an important point to see what actions will be taken against health department employees who appointed Ahirwar for such a task and as well as the administration of the school, who overlooked the negligent act.
