OnePlus and Oppo have stopped selling their smartphones in Germany because of the case by Nokia.
OnePlus and Oppo have been banned in Germany from selling their smartphones. After the case goes with Nokia, Oppo and OnePlus have to stop selling their smartphone in Germany.
Oppo has already removed their smartphones from Oppo German websites. They have not removed the smartphones but they removed the “Buy” button from the smartphone page.
Both the companies can only sell headphones and accessories in the German market.
Oppo has reaffirmed that the smartphone already sold will receive all the necessary updates and support.
They have still to update their website and remove the smartphones from the German website but people cannot buy any smartphone.
German buyers will be able to buy Oppo and OnePlus smartphones from retailers and shops but only the available stock will be sold.
A report claimed that both have refused to accept Nokia’s licensing renewal fee. If they accepted Nokia’s licensing agreement, they have to pay 2.50 euros per smartphone sold worldwide to Nokia.
They only have a 10% market share in the German market and now they have decided to stop selling altogether in Germany.
This ban on sales not only will affect both but also the German buyers who had many options and a shortage of smartphones in their market.
They have an annual sale is around 2 million smartphones. Now that these smartphones will be absent from the market, there can be a shortage of smartphones in German Market.
Nokia has also filed the same lawsuits against other BBK Electronics-owned companies. BBK Electronic-owned companies include Realme and Vivo. If the court rules the same way towards them as well BBK Electronics-owned companies will have to stop their sale in Western Europe and UK.
