Arms and ammunition, incriminating material, and Rs 39 lakh were seized during the day-long raids in Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Chandigarh, and Madhya Pradesh, the NIA spokesperson said.

In a concerted effort to combat the intertwining networks of terrorism, organized crime, and drug trafficking, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) joined forces with the Punjab and Haryana Police to launch an extensive crackdown. On Wednesday, the collaborative operation entailed thorough search operations spanning a staggering 324 locations. in nine states and Union Territories as part of ‘Operation Dhvast‘. Illegal material and Rs 39 lakh were seized.
During the operation, the NIA conducted searches at 129 different locations. Simultaneously, the Punjab Police conducted searches at 17 locations across 143 districts, while the Haryana Police carried out searches at 10 separate locations. in 52 districts. The operation began at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. NIA officials said several suspects were detained in the raids conducted as part of ‘Operation Dhvast’.

Punjab Police and the NIA on Wednesday conducted raids at the hideouts of notorious criminals and anti-social elements across the state. He also said cordon and search operations were carried out in all 28 police districts of the state.

As part of the operation codenamed “Operation Dhvast,” multiple individuals were apprehended during the raids.”
NIA spokesperson said, adding that the raids were aimed at designated terrorists Arsh Dalla and Lawrence Bishnoi, Deepak Titar, Bhupi Rana, Cheenu Pehalwan, Vikas Lagarpuria, Ashish Chaudhary, Dilpreet Baba, Gurpreet Sekhon, among others. The terror nexus of dreaded gangsters like Harsimrat Simma and Anuradha had to be broken.
Apart from this, a network of goons is used to carry out target killings at the behest of terrorists. Many murders were also committed to create an atmosphere of fear and extort crores of rupees. There is evidence that the network has spread to prisons as well.
The raid teams seized a substantial number of incriminating materials during the operation.
He also mentioned that these raids were conducted at the residences of arms suppliers, financiers, logistics providers, and hawala operators and seized a pistol, live and used composite cartridges, sixty-nine mobile phones, five DVRs, twenty SIM cards, a hard disk, a pen drive, Wi-Fi router, a digital handcuff, two memory cards, seventy-five documents and around Rs forty lakh in cash, officials said.

NIA officer also said members of the entire network are being identified and action is being taken against them. A senior official claimed that the network’s activities have come down after the NIA action.
