As the festive season approaches, domestic consumer passenger vehicles sales are all set to experience a boost. The top car manufacturers of India include, Maruti Suzuki, Ashok LeyLand, Hyundai Motor Company, Tata Motors, Mahindra and Mahindra, Kia Corporation, Toyota Motor Corportaion, Honda, Renault, MG Motor, and Skoda Auto.
Of all the corporations, Maruti Suzuki is the major dominant in the automobile industry, having a market share of 44.2 percent. Hyundai Motors and Tata motors are second and third leading car manufacturers after Maruti Suzuki, with market share of 14.5 percent and 13.2 percent respectively.Â

Introduction to vehicles’ sales
The festive season starts from 17th of August, ending on 14th of Novermber, which makes up a 68 day long festival phase. The demand for domestic passenger vehicles witness a rise, as the people happen to consider this period as auspicious days to buy and acquire assets.
However, some days in between are also considered to be not auspicious for buying.
The domestic automobiles, especially utility vehicles are expected to cross the mark which is set 10 lakh, or 1 million.Â
What say do the companies have?
The Senior Executive officer of Marketing and Sales, of Maruti Suzuki India, Sashank Srivastav, made the statement in an interaction with the media, that usually, the demand and sales during the festive season stand at about 22 – 24 percent of the total sales in a year.
Srivastav further added, that this fiscal year, it is expected that the sales might stay around the range of 40 lakh sales of units, which comprises the expectation of the sales of units during the festive season to be about 1 million, or 10 lakhs.
He noted that the industry has seen a strong boost till the date of the fiscal year, and will see a similar boost in the upcoming months as well.
He aslo mentioned that the company has recently launched new models of vehicles which are going to play a very effective role in the sales this festive season.
The largest car manufacturer of the company, Maruti Suzuki corporation, has a strength in smaller sections of the industry, where consumers show a keen interest in buying during the festive months, which is why, the company admitted to be a better performer in comparison to the other companies or participants of manufacturing automobiles.
The Managing Director of Tata motors Passenger Vehicles, Sailesh Chandra, had similar views, stating that the industry expects the festive seasons sales and to be very good this year.
Summary of demand and sales in Figures
The country’s large and leading automobile companies have reported to increase dispatch of consumer vehicles by third year on a year in November, this year. The country sees a spurt in demand by the people, and therefore, the passenger vehicles sales may rise by 33 percent by the coming November.
Estimations have been made that the company have dispatched 320,000 to 325,000 SUV cars, sedans and utility vehicles to the dealers in this very month, to meet the skyrocketing demands. The companies are helding a big pile of unfinished orders, and an improvement in supplies.
All these together make up an increase of 33 percent over 245.000 vehicles sales in the same period but in last year, and it also marks the highest growth registered in the segment in this month over a record of 13 years.
