Pat Cummins will miss Australia’s three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, which will kick off a seven-week visit of the country in June and July. Australia will revert to near-full strength for the tour, which includes five One-Day Internationals and two Tests, with most players who missed the white-ball tour of Pakistan due to the IPL returning to the fold.

Marcus Harris and Mark Steketee are significant omissions from the 16-man Test squad, but both have been named in the ‘A’ squad that will accompany the senior men’s team on a shadow tour of Sri Lanka.
The limited-overs sides, on the other hand, have seen a cosmic transformation, with regulars Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Glenn Maxwell, David Warner, Steve Smith, and Matthew Wade all returning. Ben McDermott, who got his first ODI century in Pakistan last month, and Michael Neser are both out.
Men’s Chair of National Selectors, George Bailey said,
“These are extremely targeted to skill sets and what we perceive as the bulk of the squad for the home T20 World Cup and looking ahead to the ODI World Cup, on the heels of a fantastic Test Series, we were able to continue to add to our depth with outstanding white ball performances in Pakistan. Among the obstacles of the last few years, this has been one of the most satisfying elements for selection.”
