The Punjab Kings (PBKS) have come back in the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 in style. In match 11, PBKS defeated the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 54 runs at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, on Sunday.Â
Liam Livingstone led from the front with an all-round show in PBKS’s major victory over CSK as he scored his maiden IPL half-century and claimed two crucial wickets with the ball. Yesterday proved to be the Liam king’s day.Â
CSK had to chase the target of 181 runs. Tha chasing team did not get a good start. CSK openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Robin Uthappa got out in an unexpected short time, leaving the team with bits of panic.Â
Ruturaj Gaikwad was caught by Dhawan in the slips. PBKS skipper Agarwal got the Uthappa’s stumps just in time. Kagiso Rabada and Vaibhav Arora also claimed a wicket each.  Â
PBKS maintained the pressure it had created on CSK with the new ball as Moeen Ali delivered the ball into the stumps before Arora claimed the second wicket. CSK skipper Jadeja was out at 0 runs after Arora disturbed the timber in the final over of the powerplay. At the end of the powerplay, CSK scored 27 runs at the cost of 4 wickets after 6 overs. Â
Troubles grew more for CSK as 5 wickets had gone down and the batters were back to the pavilion. With the asking rate climbing up, the left-handed batter Shivam Dube decided to counter-attack and smashed 5 fours and a six. Â
CSK now needed 108 runs from 7 overs that were left. 50 partnership was up for the 6th wicket as 18 runs came from the 14th over, bowled by Rabada after Dube hit consecutive sixes to reach half-century off just 26 deliveries. Â
Liam Livingstone ended the Dube-Dhoni stand by taking 2 crucial wickets in successive deliveries. While Dube was caught, Bravo was also caught and bowled. Â
Rahul Chahar witnessed a six in his over but bounced back to dismiss Pretorius. However, the former CSK skipper was caught with a sharp catch behind the stumps by debutant Jitesh Sharma. Chahar claimed his 3rd wicket as PBKS wrapped the CSK innings in the 18th over and won the game convincingly by 74 runs.Â

CSK made an incredible start with the ball by claiming 2 early wickets. PBKS skipper Mayank Agarwal was caught inside the circle and Bhanuka Rajapaksa was run out for 9, with a magnificent show of fielding by Chris Jordan and MS Dhoni.Â
