Synopsis: Pm Modi unveiled two day “PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022” on Monday Morning at Indian Agricultural Research Institue in New Delhi.
PM Narendra Modi unveiled the two-day “PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022” at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in New Delhi.
The PM’s office said in a statement. This event will bring more than 13,500 farmers from across the country and around 1500 agri-startups.
This event is aimed at making farmers lives easier, boosting their capabilities, and promoting advanced agricultural techniques.
More than 1 Crore farmers from various institutions are likely to attend this event virtually. PM Kisan Samman Sammelan also witnessed the participation of researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders.
The PM will open 600 Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samruddhi Kendras (PMSK) under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.
Highlights of the event:
During the event, the Prime Minister launched the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Urvarak Pariyojna—One Nation, One Fertilizer. The “One Nation, One Fertilizer” scheme will provide farmers with low-cost, high-quality crop nutrients, according to the Prime Minister.
For the welfare of farmers, PM Modi also released the 12th installment of 16,000 crores under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) through Direct Benefit Transfer.
Under this scheme, farmer families who are eligible are provided a benefit of Rs. 6000 per year in three equal installments of Rs. 2000 each. Yet, eligible farmer families have received benefits of more than Rs. 2 lakh crore under PM-KISAN.
In addition, PM Modi also unveiled the Agri Start-ups Conclave and Exhibition. About 300 start-ups are going to showcase their innovations related to precision farming, post-harvest, and value-added solutions; allied agriculture; waste to wealth; supply chain management; mechanization for small farmers; and Argi-Logistic, among others.
This platform would make it easy for start-ups to interact with farmers, FPOs, agri-experts, corporates, etc. They will also share their experience and interact with other stakeholders in technical sessions.
At the event, PM Modi will also launch “Indian Edge,” an e-magazine on fertilizer. The e-magazine will provide information on domestic and international fertilizer scenarios, including recent developments, price trend analysis, availability and consumption, and success stories of farmers, among others.
