Former PM of Kenya Raila Amolo Odinga meets PM Narendra Modi; the two leaders have expressed their commitment to enhancing cooperation in the health sector. The High Commissioner of India to Kenya, Dr. Virendra Pal, has given this information.
Commenting on the query on KTN News on Ayurveda in the context of Odinga’s visit to India and India-Kenya cooperation in the health care sector, Pal said,
“PM Modi and Ralia are friends for a long time, they have known each other for many years.
The Prime Minister of India and the former Minister of Kenya held a courtesy call. He expressed his commitment to improving relations between the two countries further.
PM Modi expressed happiness over meeting Odinga after nearly half and years. Prime Minister Modi recalled his many interactions with Odinga since 2008 in both India and Kenya and his support of the Vibrant Gujarat Summits in 2009 and 2012.Â
Furthermore, they also discussed other issues of mutual interest. PM Modi also wished Odinga for his good health and future.
PM Modi tweeted,” Glad to welcome former Prime Minister of Kenya Ralia Amolo Odinga. I recall my previous Interactions with him in India and Kenya. India and Kenya enjoy long bilateral ties, and we welcome further strengthening of our ties.
The former PM of Kenya was on a tour of India for the treatment of his daughter’s eyes. The Indian High Commissioner said, ‘ Odinga noted the improvement in the conditions of his daughter’s eyes; he has said thanks for the Ayurvedic treatment in India.
