PM Modi on Saturday attended a virtual event called “Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya” where he dedicated Rs 5,200 crore for green energy projects of National Thermal Power Corporation(NTPC).

PM Narendra Modi took part in the Grand Finale of “Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya- power @2047” on Saturday via video conferencing. He introduced the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme during the program. Additionally, he dedicated and laid the cornerstone for other NTPC green energy projects worth Rs 5200 crore. He also unveiled the rooftop portal for National Solar.
Interacting with the crowd, the Prime Minister mentioned that the energy and electricity industries will be crucial to driving India’s development during the next 25 years. Both the ease of doing business and the ease of living are impacted by the strength of the energy sector. According to him, the projects that were just announced mark a significant advancement for the county’s use of green energy and energy security.
These initiatives will support India’s commitment to, and aims for, renewable energy and green mobility, he said. The prime minister declared that two significant green hydrogen projects in Gujarat and Ladakh begin today. The Ladakh plant will create green hydrogen for use in the nation’s automobiles.
This will be the first initiative in the nation to enable the use of environmentally friendly hydrogen-based transportation on a commercial scale. The first region in the nation where fuel cell electric vehicles will begin to circulate is Ladakh, and this will happen very soon. This will contribute to making Ladakh a carbon-neutral zone, he mentioned.
The country is going toward blending green hydrogen in piped natural gas pipelines, the prime minister added, after combining ethanol in gasoline and aviation fuel previously. which will lessen the reliance on imports for natural gas.
The Prime Minister recalled the dire state of the country’s power situation before to 2014 and recalled that eight years earlier, the Government had taken the initiative to restructure the whole country’s power sector. The electricity system was improved by combining efforts in the four areas of generation, transmission, distribution, and connection.
According to the prime minister, the nation has increased nearly 1,70,000 MW of power producing capacity during the past eight years. The country’s current strength is the One Nation One Power Grid. The total length of the country’s transmission lines is around 1,70,000 circuit kilometres. We are also getting closer to the saturation goal by providing 3 crore connections under the Saubhagya Scheme, he continued.
