NEW DELHI: Prashant Kishor, whose recent political efforts have drawn widespread attention, today refrained from forming a new party but stated that he will devote himself to bringing about a new dispensation in his native state of Bihar.Â
The ace electoral strategist launched a 3,000-kilometer Padyatra or march beginning October 2 to visit “as many people as possible” as part of his goal to deliver Bihar “Nayi Soch, Naya Prayas (new thinking, new effort)”.Â
Prashant Kishore, or PK, added that because Bihar does not have any upcoming elections, forming a political party was not in his immediate plans. However, he left open the possibility of his future.Â
“I want to start over—I’m going to spend the next three to four years spreading the word about Jan-Suraj (good governance in public),” he added. When introducing Mission Bihar, the strategy ruled out partnership with the state’s major parties, criticizing both Lalu Yadav and Nitish Kumar’s governments.Â
He stated that the “past 15 years” had been difficult for Bihar. “As has been rumored, I will not be announcing a political programme or party today.
I plan to convene a meeting of all people who desire change in Bihar.” He continued: “If we decide in the future that we need to form a political party, it would not be led by Prashant Kishor. It will be a party of the people “‘.Â
His team has found 17,000 people who believed in good governance in the last three months, he added. “Around 90% of these individuals believe Bihar needed a paradigm shift. I intend to see as many individuals as possible personally over the next three to four months “‘He stated.Â
In response to a question concerning funds, he stated, “Vote Hai to Note Jugad ho Jayega (if we have the votes, money can be handled).” Prashant Kishor also reiterated why his conversations with Congress came to a halt.Â
It all came down to the Congress’s “Empowered Action Group,” which he had been invited to join by the party. The Congress showed a commitment to working on his ideas and even agreed on how to proceed, he added.Â
“However, they wanted me to join the Empowered Action Group, which had no constitutional legitimacy,” Mr. Kishor explained. He also stated that he had no intention of cooperating with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, whom he has avoided seeing thus far.Â
“I have no beef with Nitish Kumar personally. We have excellent relations. However, personal relationships are one thing; collaboration and agreement are quite another. I will have to leave if Nitish Kumar summons me for a meeting. However, this does not imply we agree on everything and will work together “PK said.Â
“Nitish Ji was comparable to my father. However, this does not exclude me from embarking on a different political adventure “He was referring to his former political employer, who appointed him vice president of the Janata Dal-United but then fired him.Â
When questioned about his prior announcement of a Bihar yatra, Mr. Kishor stated that he was waiting for the Covid epidemic to pass.Â
“If someone has any questions about my sincerity, if they do not trust my Bihar commitment, then I need to exert further work. All I can say is, just let me time. You are entitled to have doubts, but give me a chance “According to Mr. Kishor.Â
