As per reports, Kishor presented the roadmap for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections for the Congress Party, where he spoke about areas of improvement and various strategies that the party could implement.
Just as Congress had seen eroding footsteps in the 2022 state assembly elections, the party invited election strategist Prashant Kishor to join the party. On Saturday, Kishor met Congress leader Sonia Gandhi and other senior leaders Rahul Gandhi, Ambika Soni, Digvijay Singh, KC Venugopal, and many others. Kishor presented the roadmap for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections for the party.
According to sources, Kishor had given a detailed presentation on the party’s weaknesses and areas of improvement. As per reports by ANI, he suggested Congress should contest elections alone in UP, Bihar, and Odisha. The party should form alliances in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, and Maharashtra, to which Rahul Gandhi and others agreed. Sources have also confirmed that the strategist has countered Congress’ version and talks suggest that the party’s goal now is to focus on Gujarat Elections that are to be held this year.
KC Venugopal, General secretary in charge of the party, said, “Kishor has given a detailed presentation on the 2024 poll strategy. The plan presented by Kishor will be looked after by a group set up by the Congress president. The group will submit its report within a week, and the final decision will be taken after that.” When asked if Kishor was joining the party, Venugopal notified that the party would release details about the same within this week.
Kishor indicated he was ready to join the party without any exceptions. He expects the plans proposed by him to be implemented to strengthen the party at the grass-root level, suggested the reports. He believes in giving a long-term strategic plan for the party’s revival. With the 2024 Lok
Sabha election in the limelight, he has asked the party to focus on fighting 365-370 seats parliamentary seats and strengthening the party’s base in the constituencies.
Prashant Kishor, fondly known as ‘PK,’ came into the public view in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, when he created the election campaign group, Citizens for Accountable Governance (CAG) that helped BJP win elections with an absolute majority. In addition, the star political strategist had created innovative advertising campaigns for PM Modi like Chai pe Charcha, Run for Unity, and other social media campaigns.
Previously Karnataka Chief Minister Bommai stated that the Congress party is sinking, and it will surely ‘sink’ in the upcoming Karnataka elections. Bommai also noted that the scams done by the Congress party previously remains fresh in the minds of the people. “We will have to expose the documents of their shady deals before the people. We should take these scams to the people. The truth will come out of all the scamsters, and the opposition leaders will have to face the truth. They should be ready to face it. Then, skeletons will tumble out of their cupboards,” Bommai said.
Talks between Prashant Kishor and Sonia Gandhi collapsed last year after Mamata Banerjee’s victory – in which the star strategist played a pivotal role. Despite Kishor’s sharp digs at the party, both have shown their interest to become an alliance after Congress’s latest defeat in assembly elections. All eyes now lay on the party and Kishore’s step ahead. The Congress Party is now revving ways to set its foot forward in the upcoming elections and is ready to hold ‘Chintin Shivir’ in Rajasthan for a brainstorming session that could help devise means to strengthen the party.
Congress has been facing repeated election defeats, and the reason is guessed to be the internal conflict between the old generation theories and the new generation’s working style for leadership roles. Results exhibited the poor performance by the Congress party in the first phase of the 2022 Assembly election held in five states. The party is believed to be sailing a sinking ship, and experts believe that the senior leaders of the Congress party are responsible for the downfall.
