Senior Central Public Works Department (CPWD) officials said The emblem is made of bronze, weighs 9,500 kg and measured 6.5m tall, and it is handcrafted and took over nine months to complete.
The Emblem is supported with a supporting structure made of steel with almost 6,500kg weight. It is specially constructed to support the National Emblem.
Along with PM Modi Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri were also present at the event. Mr Modi also interacts with the workers (Shramjeevis) who are involved in the work.

A senior CPWD official said, “The structure weighs 9,500kg and is 4.4m in width. It has been cast at the top of the Central Foyer of the New Parliament Building. A supporting structure of steel weighing around 6,500kg has been constructed to support the Emblem.”
The National Emblem on the roof of the new parliament building in New Delhi has gone through eight different stages.
“The concept sketch and process of casting the national emblem on the roof of the new Parliament building has gone through eight different stages of preparation from clay modelling and computer graphics to bronze casting and polishing,” a senior official who is aware of the development said.
The emblem was divided into more than 150 segments and then labours took it on the roof of the new parliament building and then assembled it on the roof. The CPWD official said “The work to assemble it started in April end. It took us nearly two months to complete the work.”

Authorities said that the winter session of Parliament will happen in the new parliament.
