Prime Minister Narendra Modi was spotted picking up litter during the inspection of the ITPO Tunnel at Delhi.
Carrying forward his vision of Swachh Bharat, Narendra Modi set an example for the youth of the country. He was photographed while picking trash from the ITPO Tunnel at Delhi on Sunday, 19th June. He inaugurated five underpasses and the main tunnel of the Pragati Maidan Integrated Transit Corridor project. The tunnel is opened for the public from today onwards. This was an eminent part of redevelopment projects surrounding the Pragati Maidan.
The Integrated Transit Corridor project was built at an expense of Rs 920 crore, funded completely by the Central Government of India. It aims to provide smooth access to the new convention centre being developed to facilitate easy participation of exhibitors in the programmes.

News agency ANI shared a video which depicts our PM, picking up an empty water bottle along with other items during his inspection with his bare hands, that has led to appreciation from social media pouring in.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal joined in the bandwagon to give a shoutout to the Prime Minister saying that he ‘made it a point to pick up garbage and ensure cleanliness’.
His action reflects his idea of the Swachh Bharat Mission he launched on 2nd October 2014, to commemorate the 145th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. It was initially started with the vision to eliminate open defecation and improve solid waste management. The programme now moves, towards its Grameen phase to focus on waste management and cleanliness in the villages of India. It aims to focus on providing interventions for safe solid and liquid waste management in the rural.

At the launch of the Pragati Maidan ITO, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that there were several obstacles undergone including Covid. He even added that there were some people who knocked at the judiciary’s door to postpone the project, but finally it was successful.
