A day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised ‘The Kashmir Files’, a film based on the migration of Kashmiri Pandits from the Kashmir Valley in the 1990s, Bal Thackrey led Shiv Sena on Wednesday pointed the BJP by claiming that the party is “cashing in on a fake narrative”.
Shiv sena, through its newspaper ‘Saamna’, also questioned as to why the Congress government was unable to answer that the exodus happened during the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led VP Singh government in the Centre and the then Jammu and Kashmir’s Governor was also close to the party at that time.
PM Modi praised the Vivek Agnihotri directorial for “bringing the truth in its correct form” and said history has to be presented in the right context from time to time while addressing a BJP Parliamentary Party meeting on Tuesday.
“You must have heard the discussion about The Kashmir Files. Those who carry around the flag of freedom of expression, that whole group is rattled for the last few days,” Modi said in his speech. The video of the PM’s address was shared on Twitter by the BJP and several leaders of the party.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also shut the claiming, “Campaign to discredit”. Then he continued “Instead of assessing the film on the basis of facts and truth, a campaign is on to discredit it. The whole ecosystem opposes anyone who tries to show the truth.
They only try to project what they want to see as truth, the conspiracy for the last few days is to ensure that no one sees the truth,” the prime minister concluded.
Recently released film, The Kashmir files which stars, Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi’s. The film has been written by Vivek Agnihotri and produced by Zee Studios.
After the PM’s remarks, the Congress also targeted the BJP government on Tuesday and asked till when “will you take advantage by scratching wounds”? The Opposition party accused the Centre of not doing anything for the welfare of Kashmiri Pandits.
With heightened reviews of the public on the film,” The Kashmir files” the allegations were also been made against BJP for using this film to promote the party. Many Social thinkers, journalists and film stars have shared their intense response for the movie and public is also raising voices over the historical exodus of Kashmiri pandits now.
People seem to be curious about the history and looking forward to dig up the facts and factors involved in that huge migration.
