Prince Harry to write a memoir about his life in the royal family

Britain’s Prince Harry announces an intimate and honest memoir that will expose the mistakes and lessons learned across his life.

Penguin Random House will publish a personal memoir.

The announcement has come after a controversial interview given by Prince Harry and Meghan to Oprah Winfrey.

In the interview, Meghan accused the Royal family of bullying and royal racism, after which the couple moved to the United States last year.

The publisher did not disclose the deal’s financial terms, but some media houses said that $20 million are paid in advance.

Harry said he would donate the earning from the book to charity.

Several British tabloids reported that the book would be written by J.R. Moehringer, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who collaborated with Andre Agassi for his memoir Open.

In a statement released by the Penguin Random House on behalf of Prince Harry, he is writing this not as the Prince I was born, but as the man, he has become.

“I have worn many hats over the years, both literally and figuratively, and my hope is that in telling my story the highs and lows, the mistakes, the lessons learned can help to show that no matter where they come from, we have more in common than we think.”

He added that he is deeply grateful for the opportunity to share what he has learned throughout his life so far and excited for people to read a firsthand account of his life that’s accurate and wholly truthful.

In an announcement on Twitter, Penguin Random house revealed the schedule of the book going to be published next year.

They said an intimate and heartfelt memoir from one of the most fascinating and influential global figures of our time.

The book will cover Prince’s childhood when he was just 12 years and his mother, Prince Diana, died in a Paris car crash.

Then he gave his military service, including two tours of Afghanistan.

The honest and captivating personal portrait will also recount the joy he has found in being a husband and father, added the publisher.

Why is there excitement over the book?

In an Oprah Winfrey interview, Prince Harry questioned the treatment given to his mother, Diana, by the media.

He says that he feared history was repeating itself, so they decided to step back as senior royals.

The two-hour interview was viewed by more than 17 million people in the US and over 11 million in Britain.

Harry and Meghan said that racism had played a part in them quitting Britain.

The couple said a senior royal speculated about their child’s dark skin before he was born. Meghan’s mother is Black, and her father is white.

Readers, viewers, and even the media are more excited to know which all secrets this memoir will reveal now.

Writings from Royal Family

According to British media reports, it will be the first time someone senior from British royal will write such a book.

Penguin Random House has published “The Bench,” a children’s book about father-son relationships by Harry’s wife, Meghan.

Harry’s parents never wrote memoirs, but they supported authors who wrote their biography.

Harry’s father, Prince Charles, kept Jonathan Dimbleby with a biography published alongside a documentary.

Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, helped Andrew Morton with his book, “Diana: Her True Story.”

Others suggested that the royal family could be in for a rough ride.

Angela Levin, an author of a biography on Prince Harry, told “Good Morning Britain”: “If it’s going to be ‘intimate,’ as he says, I feel he risks looking like a traitor to the royal family.

I can’t believe it’s going to be all honey and sweetness.”

Are Prince Harry and Meghan part of the Royal Family?

Prince Harry and Meghan are not working royals. Senior members of the Royal Family are expected to undertake some official duties on behalf of the Queen.

Tasks like representing the Crown on tours overseas, spearheading national events, and supporting charities and organizations.

In 2020, the couple announced that they would step back from these duties and would move to North America, with plans to review the arrangement after 12 months.
