On Wednesday, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra raised questions on the ‘Agnipath’ scheme
announced by defense minister Rajnath Singh and the three major Service chiefs.
Priyanka made a post in Hindi on the Twitter app, “Why is Bharatiya Janata Party converting recruitment to the armed forces into their laboratory for experiments? Why does the government see soldiers serving the army for a long time as a burden?”

Why are aspirants calling “Agnipath” a fraud?
Under the ‘Agnipath’ scheme, which was announced by defense minister Rajnath Singh and the three service chiefs that youngsters Between the age group of 17.5 and 21 years, can join a service of their own choice, which might be an army, air force, or navy for four years. After completing their service for 4 years only 25 percent of Agniveers will be able to continue their services, while the remaining 75 percent will be released back to civilian life.
According to the center and three service chiefs, the new model is seeking for Lower age profile with both ‘host and josh’ so the armed forces can become fitter and can increase employment opportunities for more skills in several sectors.
