June 21st is celebrated as International Yoga Day and a special Yoga event was organized in the Indian embassy in the Maldives. A huge mob roped in the event where the yoga sessions were taking place.

All About the Incident
One fifty people were celebrating a yoga day event in a stadium in The Maldives when a huge mob of protesters came inside and attacked the people. The crowd stormed inside the stadium forcefully and vandalized the properties around and in the stadium. Several participants of the yoga day were also attacked in this incident. The Police immediately went into action and rescued the participants. The police used anti-rioting techniques and used pepper spray and tear gas to control the situation. According to the different local media reports six persons had been detained by the police for such an incident. President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih ordered a thorough investigation of this incident The Maldives police have issued a statement and said that an internal review will also be conducted.
