The group of protesters ‘Gota Go Gama’ at the ‘Galle Face’ area has declined to meet the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksha and have put forward two demands saying that the President Gotabaya Rajapaksha must resign from his position and all the Rajapaksha members must leave the government.Â
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksha’s offer to protestersÂ
The Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksha had said earlier that he was ready to hold meetings with the youth protestors that are protesting in the ‘Galle Face’ area. Â
The spokesman from the Prime Minister’s office confirmed that if the group of youth protesters is ready to meet the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksha, then the latter is ready to discuss the ongoing crisis situation with them.Â
Rejection of Prime Minister’s offer, and the protester’s two demandsÂ
Despite the offer however, in the letter sent to the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksha, the group of protesters said that they were not ready to meet him unless the President Gotabaya Rajapaksha resigns from his position and all the Rajapaksha members leave the government.Â
In their second demand, the protesters ask for the Prime minister Mahinda Rajapaksha and all other Rajapaksha members, namely Chamal Rajapaksha, Basil Rajapaksha, Namal Rajapaksha, Shashindra Rajapaksha and Nipuna Rajapaksha to step down from their positions and to leave the Parliament immediately.Â
ConclusionÂ
The protesters will not meet the Prime minister and have put forth such demands in a letter to the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksha that, all the Rajapaksha members step down from their positions in the government and leave the parliament immediately.Â
