Republic Day violence accused Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu of a road accident near Delhi after he rammed his white Scorpio that hit rear a truck trailer.
The accident occurred on the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway that bypasses Delhi. According to the visuals, the right side of the white Scorpio was smashed entirely after hitting the truck from behind.
His female friend traveled near Sonipat Haryana; he died while his friend survived, as the Sonipat Police team updated.
On January 26, last year, the actor turned activist was booked under various acts and was accused of inciting violence at the Red Fort Delhi.
He was well known for being vocal against the Farm Laws introduced in the Parliament in 2020. For his arrest, a reward of 1lakh INR was placed by Delhi Police.
He had joined the protest along with agitating farmers and had gone viral in a video, where he was seen saying why it is essential to march the protest to Delhi.
Following the announcement of his death, the Chief Minister of Punjab shared his condolences via Twitter, stating that he is deeply saddened by the unfortunate demise of the renowned actor.
Fans also paid tribute with the hashtag #deepsindhu over social media. Interestingly, the 2022 Punjab Legislative Assembly elections will be held in Punjab on February 20, 2022, to elect the 117 members of the 16th Assembly of the Punjab Legislative Assembly.
On April 2, 1984, he was born in Muktsar, Punjab, India. He mainly worked in Punjabi and Bollywood (Hindi) movies. He debuted with Ramta Jogi, produced by critically acclaimed actor Dharmendra under the Vijayta Films banner.
