On Sunday, minister of Education in Punjab said that the state government will start recruiting new teachers in educational institutions in the state.Â
The people of Punjab have voted for Aam Admi Party government in this year’s Assembly Election. On Sunday, the minister of Education of the new government, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer said that the Punjab government would soon start recruiting a total of 10,500 teachers to meet the deficiency of teachers in schools and colleges of the state.
The AAP government’s promise of improving the education system of Punjab is reflected on Hayer’s announcement on Sunday. Hayer had attended a cultural function at a government smart primary school in the Chananwala village, Fazilka district. There he said that Bhagwant Singh Mann led AAP government in Punjab will bring about a change in the education system and as well as in sports also.Â
The education minister said that the government’s new education policy will ensure Punjab’s progress. Referring to the new policy he stated that the state would be in the leading position in India in the fields of education and sports both.
Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, the Education Minister, further added that not only the problem with the shortage of teaching staff in Punjab would be solved but, unemployed youths will also get an opportunity in employment during the recruitment process. The Education minister also said that new courses are to be introduced in all government colleges to give the students the most up-to-date education.  Â
Hayer was accompanied by party MLAs Narinderpal Singh Sawna, Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy, and Amandeep Singh Goldy Musafir. The minister said that within 3 years the government will build playgrounds in almost all the villages of Punjab. Â
He also announced that the teaching system would be upgraded from the government smart primary school to middle level and students will get free transportation.Â
